FEUX-TRANSMUTATIONS (2024)

Feux-Transmutations is part of a deep reflection on the human ability to be the author of one's own transformation, to face challenges, and to be reborn in new forms. Inspired by my experience on Survivor Québec (Noovo, Winter 2024), this series tests the twenty participants, who must constantly call upon their adaptability, resilience, and the fluidity of their personalities to move forward. This adventure invokes processes of mutation that affect both body and mind. Continuously, individual decisions intertwine with those of the group, and the flame becomes a major symbol—an ephemeral yet persistent light, witnessing our metamorphoses.

ORACLE (2022-2024)

The artist draws inspiration from Italian Renaissance painters and uses new technologies to create this new body of abstract work. Combining the wisdom of the past with the promise of the future, Olicorno produces paintings with a mysterious temporality. With Oracle, Olicorno deploys the hyper-realistic painting skills developed in his earlier series to create complex abstract universes.  As a result, the artist creates works that inspire slow contemplation, and that opens  a portal to a world where the laws of physics would be entirely different.

Memento Mori (2019-2021)

Cosmic phenomena are not meant to be studied exclusively through the scientific lens. The Universe is also a poet, a mystic, and It knows how to communicate with us in a symbolic way. This new series of acrylic paintings focus on the study of nebulae. They are stars that imploded at the end of their life, leaving behind them clouds of gas and radiation that veil the sky. Slow dances that evolve on periods of time beyond comparison on the human scale.

Témoins de grandeur (2018-2021)

I asked myself: What would the Universe be without a conscious observer to testify to its beauty and grandeur?
This new series will put in parallel bodies or cosmic phenomena alongside sense organs or medical imagery linked to the sense of sight.
A new series that link my recent anatomical work to my astronomic series.

Bones (2016-2021)

Human bones are not only the subject of the artwork but rather, an inherent part of the medium, a raw material to work with, as clay would be for a sculptor.

I explored a wide variety of themes: romantic dialog, desire for control, contemplation of death, psychological repression, hope, and vitality. I have found inspiring tools and insights in Carl G. Jung's study of "depth psychology" as well as his understanding of human archetypes in the collective unconscious.

Inner Landscapes (2017)

A series of paintings to go further with my anatomical work.
I dug into the history of western anatomical art to inspire me. The diptychs put together an aesthetic borrowed from the first anatomists of the 16th century alongside a visual signature that would look '' the most 2017 possible ''
