It is within that distance, within that verticality, that a particular kind of hope and aspiration is born for me. Title: Le règne / The Reign

I sought to symbolically represent the essence of a royal or even papal figure. By using golden hues and textures ranging from light silks to heavy brocades, I aimed to capture not only the majesty but also the weight of this royalty. The painting embodies both elevation and downfall, simultaneous and inseparable, symbols of an ephemeral reign. Here, the beginning and the end coexist, merging in an abstract confrontation, a silent struggle that seems to defy the laws of physics. This cycle of life, where grandeur and decay intertwine, reveals the fragility and inevitable decline of a figure at the height of power. The verticality and imposing proportions of the work seek to dominate the viewer, who might feel scrutinized from above, under the imperious gaze of this figure. This reign stretches far beyond the canvas, but its shadow reveals the complexity and duality of this domination. Limited edition print on fine art paper
